Planning approval
A time for celebration! 409 much needed new homes approved.
Hard work and commitment pay off as The Noble Consultancy secure planning approval for Phase 2, Hermitage Lane, Aylesford, on behalf of BDW Kent.
Outline planning consent was granted in August 2020 for up to 840 new homes, public open space, a Primary School, doctors surgery and local highway improvements, including a new link road.
In preparing the Phase 1 application, the team were required to strike a balance of utilising BDW Kent’s core house type range while creating a development with a distinctive new character area within Aylesford. The supporting Design Statement also set several Site-Wide Strategies to ensure continuity across all future phases.
As a result of proactive and positive pre-application discussions, the initial proposals were so well received by the local authority that consultee comments were limited to the design of the link road and other minor comments that were quickly addressed by our architectural team. The high-quality design within Phase 1 will set the president for later phases.
Thanks to BDW Kent and wider project team for their continued support. Also, special thanks go to everyone involved at the Noble Consultancy for co-ordinating the project and keeping momentum on the application. It is also great to see that our Technical Team are well-progressed with the working drawing construction package that will allow BDW Kent to get started on site.
With Phase 1 secured, we look forward to working with BDW Kent and the consultant team on delivering the remaining 597 homes.
The timeframe in which this major application for 243 dwellings was approved just goes to show the benefit of early engagement with Officers at pre-application stage.
